superfood art

The “standard North American diet” is mostly comprised of foods that are brown and beige. Think: pasta, cereal, crackers, bread, potatoes and fried foods. This is in stark contrast to an unprocessed whole foods diet which is rich in vibrant colours. Inspired by this idea and the desire to promote the beauty of real food, Kate and her brother Harrison Taylor, a Toronto-based artist, had the idea to create art using the superfoods that were actually on the nutbar menu. nutbar food art is the resulting work. Notice all the ingredients – raw cacao, turmeric, ginger, spirulina, beets – which make up the beautiful, vibrant splotches on the stark white coconut milk base. This art has made up the majority of our branding materials.
